BREAKING: Donald Trump’s legal team puts Trump in hot water AGAIN in what only can be described as a misguided and crazy reply to judge Engoron’s request for information about possible perjury.
Here are all the details you need to know:
After Engoron demanded more information as to whether Allen Weisselberg committed perjury in his courtroom, Trump’s attorneys responded, calling his request “unprecedented, inappropriate, and troubling.”
Trump Attorney Clifford Robert apparently didn’t think the question needed to be answered - neither did Alina Habba.
“The New York Times article is neither admissible or reliable,” Habba said.
WHY IS THIS SIGNIFICANT
Judge Engoron is asking for information and HE ALONE will determine the penalties in the case. Trump’s lawyers are about to find out why denying a judge an answer he seeks, and calling his question “inappropriate” is not a good idea.
What do you think? Should judge Engoron apply MAXIMUM penalties against Trump and his family — up to $370 million — in the civil fraud case?
Let us know in the comments.
Pretty clearly an agenda item for Ms. Habba's State Bar Association, I'd think.
